The group visited the Mtt. plant on Monday afternoon. These are farmers linked to the Australian company Fox & Lillie who saw with their own eyes how the wool imported to Italy is used. Reali: “Raw material with Rws certification and from sustainable farms that pay special attention to animal welfare.”
An Australian delegation of breeders linked to the Fox & Lillie group, a company founded in 1948 that specializes in wool, visited the Manifattura Tessile Toscana factory yesterday afternoon. It was an opportunity for about 20 breeders from all parts of Australia to see up close how wool imported to Italy is used by Mtt, the company in the Prato textile district led by Carla Pacini and Enrico Reali, which specializes in outerwear fabrics and is recognized worldwide for its boiled wool fabric.
The delegation touched on Manifattura Tessile Toscana’s fabrics, visited the company’s factory and finally the last stop there was in the company showroom where the farmers had the chance to preview the fabrics that will be brought to Milano Unica from July 8 to 10. “We use Australian wool because it has Rws (Responsible Wool Standard) certification, one of the most requested at the moment by brands, and because it is purchased from sustainable farms that pay special attention to animal welfare,” explains Enrico Reali. “This is a collaboration that has been going on for many years, under the banner of sustainability.
Manifattura Tessile Toscana also uses wool from South America and New Zealand, all of which always meets certain international standards and requirements. “Raw material that allows us to make fabrics in pure wool and wool blends,” Reali adds. “And to obtain characteristics that are highly appreciated by the international market, such as luster, softness, both in knitted and shuttle fabrics.
Satisfaction during the Prato visit was also expressed by the Australian delegation, which appreciated Manifattura Tessile Toscana’s “quality, sustainable processes, and focus on research and innovation.”
Speaking of Milano Unica 2025, the company from the Prato district is set to present its ‘Styled by the Nature’ collection that features a nod to the English countryside, with contemporary references, colors and designs. “A collection that tries to push on fantasy, after a period of very plain and basic fabrics,” adds Reali. At the Rho Fair, Manifattura Tessile Toscana will present the company’s two historical lines ‘Mtt’ and ‘Easy,’ and will also launch on the market a collector’s item reserved for all the company’s customers. “A surprise that we are sure will be greatly appreciated by everyone,” Reali concludes.
